Our Research Goals:

 

Our goal is to identify gene variants that contribute to oxycodone addiction and to facilitate research on the cellular and molecular mechanisms of oxycodone addiction. 

 

If you would like to participate in this research endeavor, we are looking for laboratories that perform oxycodone self-administration in outbred rats and that are willing to share their data.  You would not have to change anything to your own experimental design and would share with us the behavioral data from controls animals only (without specific treatment) and send us a tail or spleen samples for genotyping.  The results will be published in a joint manuscript.

We are also generating a tissue bank from ~1000 rats that have been characterized as vulnerable or resistant to addiction-like behaviors that we make available to all researchers.
